We are…
is our epilepsy community project.
Epilepsy is a complex neurological condition that impacts on the quality of life for those living directly, and indirectly, with it. Epilepsy can be difficult to diagnose and to treat but, also importantly, it is a disease that can engender unnecessary stigma, prejudice, and fear within families and communities.
Epilepsy Waikato Charitable Trust (EWCT) invited people to participate in our “We are…” project. The project involved preparing the accompanying poster on which are photographs of 72 people, identified by only a word or two chosen by each individual – some have epilepsy, some live with or support people with epilepsy, and some are associated with EWCT and its activities or services or funders. Our community.
We wish to thank our participants for their photos and their positive conversations regarding this project.
We also acknowledge and thank our funders, who continue to support us so that we may improve the quality of life for those living with epilepsy.
