Welcome to Epilepsy Uncovered 2025!
We are three occupational therapy students, Kayla, Brooke, and Bella, hosting a podcast series to raise awareness and understanding of epilepsy by sharing lived experiences, professional insights, and practical information in an accessible way. Through conversations with the Epilepsy Waikato Charitable Trust, we explore topics such as diagnosis, treatment, and personal stories. Learn alongside us as we release a new episode each week throughout November 2025 for Epilepsy Awareness Month!
Episode 1: Epilepsy 101 (busting myths and sharing facts)
Kia ora and welcome to the first episode of our Epilepsy Awareness Month podcast series! In this episode, we take a closer look at what epilepsy really is, breaking down common myths, sharing key facts, and shining a light on the realities of living with Epilepsy. Joining us is Esther, the Epilepsy Advisor at Epilepsy Waikato Charitable Trust, who helps us unpack why awareness and understanding are so important in reducing stigma and supporting our community.
